"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Phil. 2:13)."

How mighty and manifold is the knowledge of God!  To think, that when living by the authority and purposes of God, the Christian is supernaturally directed and empowered!  As Jesus stated, “… and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me" (John 14:24).  And again, “ … I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things (John 8:28).”  The Lord Jesus Christ is the Kingly and premier example of how to live an obedience-filled empowered life in God.  He is most assuredly the “captain” of our salvation, “Shepherd and Bishop” of our souls and the “author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 2:10; I Pet. 2:25; Heb. 12:2).  Please also consider the following verses:

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Prov. 3:6).”

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way (Ps. 37:23).”

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps (Prov. 16:9).”

“Man’s goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way (Prov. 20:24)?”

“What man is he that feareth the Lord?  him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose (Ps. 25:12).”

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye (Ps. 32:8).”

“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory (Ps. 73:24).”

“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps (Jer. 10:23).”

"Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us:  for thou hast wrought all our works in us (Is. 26:12)"

Lastly, I find the following to be a fitting conclusion of this segment:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:6).”

How marvelous mighty!
